Biography

Tanner Bergsma is a 22-year-old Canadian autistic youth advocate, international award-winning author, motivational speaker, and humanitarian. As the founder of Unity Beyond Borders, he has reached over 228,000 people in more than 16 countries, driving change through advocacy, compassion, and action. Tanner has helped shape housing policies in over six Ontario cities, redirected thousands of dollars’ worth of food from landfills, and contributed to providing housing for families in need.

He is the author of Finding The Light Within and co-author of the global bestseller Rebirth: Stories of Unyielding Courage, a movement that has inspired over 100,000 people in 25 countries. His leadership roles span across organizations like Peel Cheshire Homes (Brampton) Inc., Kitchener’s Economic Development Advisory Committee, and Enactus Laurier. Tanner is also a TEDx speaker, Results Canada Fellow, and a Youth Ambassador with the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.

From local communities to international stages, Tanner uses his voice and lived experiences to champion social justice, inclusion, and mental health awareness.
